January 10-1000 things to give thanks (3 at a time)

Today we are to give thanks for something sweet, sour, and just right . My hubby bought these oranges for me since I have  a very nice head cold!

Really, there is something so refreshing about a nice juicy, cold orange. It is especially nice when you have a cold.  As far as something sour? It would be these tangerines....

I thought they were Clementines when I purchased them.....Clementines tend to be sweet. However some of the tangerines are sweet and others are plain ole sour!! So these are being eaten at a much slower pace!
Last of all, something just right? Well, I am not going to go to the food area, but to an area I find comforting when I am cold and wanting some sun.

Now I didn't catch it when the sun was pouring in, because I took this late in the day. This is a cozy place by the window to sit for awhile and enjoy the sunniness of the day.

It is amazing how we take all the different tastes, and temperatures for granted at times. This is making me a bit more aware.

  1. So sorry you have not been feeling well! Those oranges should certainly help. I know exactly what you mean about them tasting so good. I just bought some new clementines myself to take to work again. I love them! They are so good when they are nice and juicy and sweet and have everyone else in the break room drooling as well! Love your beautiful afghan from your previous post too. That is such a nice gift and such pretty colors. Adorable photos of the dogs playing in the water. Wishing you well and a speedy recovery! Take care of yourself!

  2. I know this is gonna sound trite, living here in FL, but we have been enjoying the best oranges this week for a after dinner snack. One night it's greek yogurt, the next an orange. Are those the little ones called "cuties"? I have been looking for them as part of my reason for not eating oranges is the peeling aspect, but have been finding joy in even that lately. You drapes and the plates with the wicker chair by the window is beautiful serenity. Since I lost my hearing at 39 and went 13 years deaf before my cochlear implant as a wonderful technically to regain 50% of my ability to hear, Helen Keller truly awes me. I know the frustration I face and while the world today is so unlike her world, she was both blind and deaf and I am just in awe of her ablilities and the mark she left on the world. Blessings.
