God's goal for our lives when involved in problems

I like this thought by Paul Tripp--

"We tend to be shortsighted and self-absorbed. We forget that God's primary goal is not changing our situations and relationships so that we can be happy, but changing us through our situations and relationships so that we will be holy."

His goal is that we have the joy of knowing Him better.

  1. Really good food for thought - especially considering all the "stuff" of our lives of late.

    Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

  2. Yes. And to enter into his trinitarian community of love. Of course we will ever be creature and him Creator, yet he takes us up into that fellowship.

But good words here. Yes, in love he won't let up in making us holy in his Son and by the Spirit.

  3. Dawn, yes, you surely have been through so much lately!

Ted, yes, it is awesome to think of his trinitarian love--I think as we grow in holiness (which is hard to really contemplate)--we grow in love and all the other communicable (sp?) attributes.

  4. Hopefully I haven't become blind to bad language but I don't remember seeing a single bad word but maybe I just expect it and think nothing of it. I read a lot of "stuff". I don't just go looking for bad language but a few naughty words in a big book don't bother me. I think you can safely read this one. LOL
