How to grow bacteria and Jan 25 thanks for 3

Photobucket

I found an easy way to grow some bacteria!  I had this rice in a closed glass container in the frig. I had left it in the back of the frig and forgotten about it when I got sick with a cold. Then the other day I was making some soup, remembered the rice, and was going to add it. I wondered if it had gotten too old. They actually say rice is a very good breeder of bacteria.  Well, this is what I found!! YIKES!! I am thankful that I didn't eat it!

I am thankful for carnations and linen and candles! The combination of the three make me feel happy and serene. (plus I have a photo of my grandson who will be turning 1 on the last day of January.) I love linen tablecloths because they remind me of my childhood days. It brings back memories of the old days, and the special meals.

And here is what made me so happy and giggly:

Last of all I am thankful for living near a little pond and fountain. I am thankful for the wild life that this attracts. This little couple was so cute---it is fun to relax at points in the day and enjoy!

THE DUCK

Behold the duck.
It does not cluck.
A cluck it lacks.
It quacks.
It is specially fond
Of a puddle or pond.
When it dines or sups,
It bottoms ups.

  1. Oh, yes, I have discovered just about anything can grow bad in the back of the fridge! Such colorful rice!

I need to do the thankfulness challenge - I need to focus on such, instead of the things that plague my mind and spirit.

  2. I love coming by here... it reminds me to keep up with my list of blessings...thankfulness ... I have slacked off some. Well as far as writing it...but I hope I always think it and voice it to God in my prayers (o:
It would be so hard to have the grands AWAY... a blog would be life saving for me.
The video is cute cute cute. He reminds me of my youngest son. Chunky and BUSY. I was looking at old home videos at Christmas. There was one of him (about the same age as yours) at our friends house on Xmas eve... she was playing the piano and we were singing Carols...but Ty couldn't stand it. He wanted at that piano so bad. When she was done she let the kids pound on it. He did that... then picked up a can of food and tried pounding with it... That's my son..the Sheriff Deputy.

Tell me Grandma...weren't you cringing just a little thinking he was going to fall off that bench??? (o:

I did put stuff away (mostly) in the craft room and I forgot my before picture.
