Happy I Love you Day (and show and tell)

It is show and tell at Kelli's http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ These photo's of my pictures didn't come out too well because of the reflection in the house at this time in the morning. I love coffee and there is something about these 2 pictures I love--they were advertisements and they always cheer me and make me happy to look at them .....just thinking about coffee makes me happy!

In the book called Living Simply there was an idea I liked!! It was called:

" Happy I love you Day".

It is a celebration that "happens whenever you want. The other great thing is that it's always a surprise."

"The things we do for 'Happy I love You' Day are generally pretty ordinary; they're things you've probably done yourself at one time or another. The difference is that in our family, we've given it a name and turned it into a tradition.......................It doesn't have to be something big or expensive or elaborate. You can take just about anything and make it special and fun---it becomes special because it's something your family does together."

Some examples she gives is a surprise Slurppee being delivered at work from her hubby, playing cards on Fri, watching cartoons on Sat. morning, reading a book together, taking a walk after supper--etc.

What I love is you don't have to have a Valentine's Day to celebrate--or a birthday--you can do it any day!
Let me know if you have any ideas!!! ps--The wall color came out wrong in these pics--weird--the room is a very cheerful yellow!!! strange----eeery things are happening!

  1. My daughter would love those prints. She has a coffee theme going on in her kitchen! One year for her birthday, the Hub went on E-Bay and found her a coffee tin from NYC. This is her favorite city!

  2. Nice pictures. I love coffee and it would be neat to see these pictures on the wall every day. I notice the green wall looks like the same color we painted one of our walls in our dining room. We painted one wall because it was the one we could reach. The other walls were too high. They went up high in a peak.

  3. I like the pictures! I also love coffee and would enjoy seeing these day by day!

I also love and am inspired by the I Love You day! As a mother of two teenage boys, they need to be shown love and I'm looking for creative ways to do that!

  4. I like the Happy I Love You Day idea, I'll tell my hubby about that, he does it all the time, so now he has a name for what he does! Yesterday he brought me a bunch of white tulips!

Nice pictures, of course I would want them to be "tea!"

  5. To answer the heart question, I guess you mean the ones around the pictures on Show & Tell. I have Word Publisher on my computer, and that is an option for lines around pictures. The color was red when I first chose it and then I changed the color. I just used the default size. It can be made smaller or larger.

  24. I like the prints.

You asked about my speaking on Simplicity. I'm hoping to link it to my blog. It's not until March.

In the meantime, I've got a category on my blog about the pursuit of simplicity. You can read those posts.
