Show and Tell Friday

It is show and tell at Kelli's : http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ I recently found a bracelet with one of my favorite verses of scripture on it: Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through him who stengthens me." I need this as a daily reminder that God can stengthen me to do the tasks and live the life He wants me to---He can do this daily. I sometimes wake up feeling overwhelmed at what the day will entail. I feel so inadequate and fearful at times , but in some ways this is good because it drives me to God and makes me realize I am not "adequate" or "up to the job" in and of myself. I must have Him to strengthen me. Paul was talking about this as he faced many different circumstances--plenty, hunger, abundance, and need.

Notice the bracelet has a twist to it and it is written on the inside and out. I wondered about the twist--but it enables the writing to go continuous from the outside to the inside! Also I could give it some symbolism; let's see---although I am twisted and mixed up, I have strength in Him? ;-)

Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me;because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;my flesh also dwells secure.
11 You make known to me the path of life;in your presence there is fullness of joy;at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Blessings upon you all!! Have a great weekend!

  5. Kim, I love your show and tell for today. What a neat bracelet. It is so unusual and with the scripture engraved. Reminds me of the wedding band I showed recently with my Mom and Dad's initials engraved inside. Things like that are a real treasure.

  11. THanks for the comment. As for my binder...it's very simple. It's just your typical 3 ring binder that a friend painted for me. Inside she placed dividers for different categories. The first being prayer...I keep a list of my prayer list and praises in there. Then there is a section for my to-do list, a section for my meal planning, etc. I only use it for my devotions/prayer/notes though. Hope that helps.

  12. I have the same bracelet with the prayer: Lord make me an instrument of your peace. And so on. The look of the braclet is so neat, and I always get compliments as i'm sure you do with yours.

And to answer your question on my blog: there are days I'd trade the kids for cats, and days I'd trade the cats in for fish! Luckily the cats have their own spots in the home, and the kids keep them entertained. :)

  13. What a wonderful bracelet. I really like it. You should wear it often!

You asked about the shoe polish I used on the table. I remember going into my husbands closet and deciding that I was going to experiment. I used several different colors. I used black, tan and also cordovan. The process was tedious. I put a coat on, let it dry, then used very fine steel wool to get it looking like I wanted it to look. I continued this for days until I was happy. I'm really glad you liked the table.
