GUIDANCE

In God's providence, I received this email with the following attached:

" Dancing With God --When I meditated on the word , Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other. My eyes drew back to the word, Guidance. When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i". "God, "u" and "i" dance." God, you, and I dance. As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead. My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life. "

Then I opened up my readings for my daily Bible time and this is part of what I read:

11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

I thought again how much dancing expresses what I feel about God--when I think of all He has done for me , my response is the feeling in my mind of dancing. So there are many aspects that the dance expresses of my walk in God---Love Him!!

  1. This is a fascinating thought, especially since I grew up having to sit out the dance section of P.E.! But I love this thought.

I hope you enjoy Kev's and my story - it's long, and intense, but so amazing. Kristen and I wrote our story together first (which is also on my sidebar), and then when Kev got home, I asked if he'd like to do our story together. I was so happy that he did.

  2. Good morning, Nannykim,
Thank you for your comments on my crocheted dress. My mother was a fast crocheter. I don't know how long it took because I was so young at the time and it was so long ago, but it must not have been too long. I don't remember wondering if she would ever get it finished. It has held up very well to be so old. It hasn't faded at all, and no, it never pilled. They made good crochet thread back in the 40s.
Ginger tagged me to tell 15 reasons it's good to be me. If you read my blog today, you will see that I tagged you.
    Have a great day!

  3. Nannykim, I think you were the one who wanted to know where to find the retro tea towels on my blog. I asked my mom and she said she got them from Gooseberry Patch. I will try to find a link later, but if you can't wait a google search will turn them up. I think they are called "Grandma's dish towels" or something like that.

  4. We most definitely need to let God leave and us to follow. Makes for a very smooth dance.

  5. A wonderful reflection here. I was thinking the other day about what it would look like to express my faith in God as a dance.

  14. Nannykim:

How beautiful . . . and how true that two cannot lead--only one--the One and Only.

Hopefully, I've better learned to follow the Leader and strive to walk in His steps.

    You are soooooo cute!!

    In Him,
    Jim's Patty
