Thankfulness again-smiling in the heart

OK......as I was having devotions this morning I started thinking of some things that make me thankful or bring a smile to my heart. Here are some of them and I CHALLENGE YOU WHO READ THIS TO MAKE A COMMENT HERE AND ADD A LIST OF THANKFUL THINGS ON YOUR BLOGS. (If you don't comment then you are toooo sad :-) ).

the softness of old worn sheets
cool fall morning air
old orange auction candle
boxes full of surprises found at auctions
dancing babies
squeals of delight
the aroma of hot maple syrup
warm colors for the fall
laughing with friends
delighting in the Lord
crisp Macintosh apples
Greatgrandma's humor
preparations for the Christmas concert (starting now)
the wonder and expectation of holidays
old wooden candle stick holders
the business of fall spiders
the antics of squirrels in the fall
the flashes of red from Cardinals (birds)
budding of the camellias
warm cocoa at bedtime
staying up to midnight to decorate ;-)
pulling out old tablecloths or candles and seeing them as warm memories
the kir- plunking of acorns falling on the patio furniture
cream cheese with orange marmalade on toast
glass table tops
fake feathery birds
soft warm sunshine
being surprised by a God-wink
the warmth of old wood floors
childhood books
cinnamon sprinkled lavishly in coffee
the little yellow butterflies in fall who fly at me while watering the vinka plants
the smell of bacon cooking in a casserole (yesterday '-)
the fun of finding things to give thanks for!

  17. Oh Kimmy! I am so thankful to know you! I am so thankful to see your picture at the beginning of your blog! I see your childhood face there! I loved seeing old Heidi again. Remember watching the old black and white movie of the story with Shirley Temple? I'm also so thankful to be living in this time of computers to be able to communicate so clearly and quickly. How lucky we are to be able to reach out to so many people!

  23. Kim - I'm thankful for you, and for your prayers. I'm thankful for the growth in my head, which seems to have brought out the best of people who are offering up prayers for me. I'm thankful for my husband, who is an angel without wings, for my children who love our Lord, for my grandchildren and foster grands who fill my life with joy and challenges. I'm thankful for those in my life who don't have a clue about God, but use His name in various ways - it gives me the opportunity to pray for them! I'm thankful for my church family and my priest - for finding "home" at the ripe old age of 53 and clinging fast to it. I'm thankful for love (the giving and receiving of it). Your cousin, Cindy.
