It is cool how God teaches us at times by speaking to us in our hearts about something and then hearing it again in a sermon or book. This happened again today. Last night my hubby and I were discussing our use of money. ... How much we should give away, how to use the money we have, etc.... The Balance in living--where we are spending and if we should stop in certain areas. (for example cutting back on cable tv, eating out, fitness center...etc...these were under consideration along with other things --Then what was the sermon on today?? Luke 16:1-13 about the fact that He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much...If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous money, who will entrust to you the true riches? And the passage that "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money"
The Challenge to us of whom do we really serve--it does provoke thinking and I need to think more about all of this.(flickr-banks picture ;-0)
Nannykim,
ReplyDeleteyou are right about the way we should spend our money... I think sometimes we THINK we need something when in fact we could certainly do without it very well...
That is a good lesson for all of us..
P.S.
you asked about Pat... she still needs our prayers... this problem will take a long while to come to a safe conclusion (it must go through the court system) so continue to hold her up in your prayers and I will keep you posted Thanks,
ok --I will hold her up in prayer.
