On Keli's blog at http://www.kellishouse.blogspot.com/ she has a show and tell Friday. You sign up at her blog and then post her site and show your stuff on your post!
So here is my picture. This is a picture of my childhood Heidi book and Heidi doll. It is one of my favorite books and the doll is one I received one Christmas--she is probably about 48 years old and still has her original dress. If you stand her up and you hold her shoulders her feet and legs can swing forward like walking.
How many of you have read and enjoyed Heidi--if you haven't then you must!!
I LOVE Heidi! This is a wonderful treasure.
ReplyDeleteI loved Heidi as a child!!! How wonderful you have both the book and the doll and that the doll is in such great shape. Do you display her for others to see and enjoy?
ReplyDeleteSusan
pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi penless-she is displayed on a bookcase with the book ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my place for show and tell. I love your Heidi doll. She reminded me that I had a Shirley Temple doll when I was little. She was Heidi in the movies I think.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my visit to your site. The picture below of you curtains blowing in the breeze just made me feel so wistful for the open windows and the way that feels and smells. I can't wait for later this fall when I will be able to open our windows. A few weeks yet.
Have a great weekend.
How wonderful that you kept your Heidi doll and book in such great shape! She is beautiful! Nice S&T!

P.S. - I'll try to answer your question about how many tea cups I have later. I've never counted them, but will. One thing I do know - I've seen others that have a lot more than I do! Some are online too!
That is so wonderful that you still have the doll and the book! She is a very pretty little doll! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog!

Oh how wonderful that you still have the doll and book from your childhood, that is so precious! I loved reading Heidi when I was growing up and I remember watching the movie Heidi with Shirley Temple:-) xo
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, this is awesome. [I remember a long time ago, during either super bowl or playoff games during the football season, they pre-empted the ending of the game to air Heidi....and what a ruckus the fans made]
ReplyDeleteGreat show and tell
I never read the story but I enjoyed the Shirley Temple Movie! What a great keepsake...

Yes Nannykim, I LOVE retirement. I still am in awe that I don't have to answer the alarm to go to work, and yet I seem to have no time leftover at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are so right, the Carolinas are a wonderful compromise. You get 4 distinct seasons, but they are more pleasant than what you get in summer down here, or winter up north.
I hope you enjoy your fall.
Love Heidi! How sweet that you've had the Heidi doll for so long, and it's in great condition.

What a great doll to have. My mom loved the story of Heidi and she was also a big Shirley Temple fan! She still watches that movie over and over. That is a priceless thing to have.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love your pictures of the rain and wind blowing thru your windows :)
I love Heidi! Thanks for sharing your doll and book with us.

The last picture is really cool. Can't believe you got that from your webcam!
ReplyDeleteI have good comfy cozy memories of you reading Heidi to me.
I can't find your email addy, so will reply here.
ReplyDeleteI counted my tea cups. I only have 49! That includes the yellow rose, the yellow depression, 12 monthly cups, 8 demi cups, 6 that I haven't shown, and a few OCR in a different style. It doesn't include the Old Country Roses cups and saucers in that set of china.
I talked to my friend and she has over 200 violets or roses tea cups!

The moonflower vine reminds me of a gardinia but not quite as strong...
I loved Heidi!!!
ReplyDeleteand I love your doll!!!

I loved Heidi too! It was a library book in a place where we used to live for a few years, and I must have read it at least 10 times. And this doll is so lovely, too.
