Well my youngest son was home for his Fall break and I made some of his favorites. Pumpkin muffins, cheesy grit casserole, chili (which he actually didn't get to eat!) , Emerile's (sp?)vodka penne, Ruth's ultimate chocolate cake. Some of these recipes I have at my reicpe blog
http://nannykimsrecipes.blogspot.com/ .
I am thankful for :
the cooler night weather
books on CD that help on long drives!
books on Cd to listen to while crocheting!
God's grace in times of pain
the simplicity that comes from Trusting God (how this soothes and comforts the mind)
the love of God displayed by sending His Son (especially the Christmas season as a reminder)
making something clean that was a mess ;-)
warm cuddly clothes
soft material
pictures on calendars
comfortable shoes
old familiar funny movies (like the Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Court Jester, Bringing up Baby)
the crunch of acorns as you tread on them
the neighborhood displays of fall flowers, and lights, and pumpkins etc
the historic society decorating the old house for the holidays and the tour!
the mist on the river
people walking their dogs
cats curled on front porches
clean laundry smell
the ironing done ;-)
