The term "chapel of ease" actually describes the fact that this church was built as a more convenient (closer) church for the congregation than the main church, which in this case is known as the "Old Brick Church" and is located on the Old Georgetown Road about 15 miles away. It is quite beautiful on the inside and out.
Years ago a country church was being sold for a ridiculously low price. I should have bought it - kept it as a chapel then built a home on the property, or turned the old church into a residence. Hindsight is always 20/20, hm?
That church is so beautiful and has such a look of 'welcome'. I love that is says the chapel of ease!
