We had a good explore today in McClellanville, Sc. We saw a huge evergreen oak that is about 1,000 years old---so beautiful! You can click on some of the pictures to enlarge ;-)
This picture above is of my oldest son--home from Seattle for the Christmas Holiday sitting on this tree!
My two sons in a pose ;-)
We ate at the TW GRAHAM and CO restaurant--it was delicious--sweet potato fries, fresh shrimp and ice tea--plus a crab chowder--yummmmmmy --It was nice spending the day with the boys and exploring towns we have often gone by on our way to Charleston. There were some pleasant surprises ! See below for more pics!
What a fun day with your boys!
ReplyDeleteAnd what an incredible tree!
I've been as far as N.C when we lived in VA but never S.C...but I'd love to visit someday.
A Happy New Year to you, Nannykim!
I didn't realize you were in the same state as me! Is that a Clemson flag I see on that boat?
ReplyDeleteI grew up playing in the branches of the Deerhead Oak. I'm so glad you enjoyed it as well. If you'd like to learn a little more about McClellanville, please feel welcome to visit www.MyMcClellanville.net

I peeked at your profile to find that some of your favorite books are near and dear to my heart--Anne of Green Gables, Agatha Christie. And you quoted Ephesians! Oh, how I love Ephesians--rich with love and unity and something special about the body of Christ.
ReplyDeleteI love the greens of the Carolinas. Wonderful pics. Beautiful tree!
ReplyDeleteThat tree is huge!! I enjoy traveling to places and seeing new sights along with eating at quaint restaurants as well. Sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteHandsome guys, too. *smile*
