Advent season and Christ's glory

Because of the advent season , I have been thinking a lot about Christ's humility. It is so hard to have any comprehension of the degree of his love and humility that would evidence itself in his coming as a baby to the planet earth. This is so incomprehensible to me. As I look at the extent of what we know of the universe , it is just too amazing to think of this act of love and humility.

I like what John Owen says in his book called, "the Glory of Christ":

"Christ is the meat, the bread, the food provided by God for your soul. And there is no higher spiritual nourishment in Christ than his mediatory love, and this you should always desire. In his love, Christ is glorious. No creatures, angels or men could have the least idea of it before it was revealed by Christ. And after it was seen in this world, it is still absolutely incomprehensible."

I like the focus of this time of the year--such a demonstration, such a revealing of Christ's nature.

  1. This is so true, Kim. I'm so thankful for His love and humility towards me. Kathi

  2. How lucky your children & grandchildren are to have you as their mentor. So many of us lose focus at this time of year!

  3. Thank you for sharing that with us.
blessings to you this christmas season.
