My early Christmas gift

In our move to down size our home we went from 3 fireplaces to none. So for the past two years I have been missing the atmosphere of a fireplace. Well, we decided on this cheaper way of getting the atmosphere. Lowes is selling fireplaces. They come in gas and electric. We liked this electric one because you can use it without heat and the fire still looks real. Oddly enough you feel warmer just looking at it! Psychology!

    Lovely! We have a wood stove in our family room and an electric fireplace in our living room. We can also use our fireplace with or without heat. We love it! Makes winter a whole lot more cozy with those in our home. Have a wonderful week.

    I have a wood stove too...and in the room where my computer is...Someday to be known as the den, I have a faux fireplace with a gas heater in it. Thank goodness I don't have to fire that thing up. The cost of propane is outrageous!
    I do like the way it looks... did you have to compromise with the flat screen? Or is this just how it is now that you downsized? Not to come off rude...what I mean is, we're thinking of downsizing too. We are thinking something more budget friendly and less work. When you live in a small house, you have to make compromises, right?

    ...I personally like the fireplace and could do with out TV until BASEBALL SEASON! lol... Pat

      As far as the TV we had it at our other house. We were hosting Bible Studies at our other home and were using the TV for the Bible Studies. What I like also about the fireplace is that it takes way less room than our original TV stand did and it gives us a lot more room. We love football season!!! ;-)

    That is so cosy and realistic looking. I didn't know you could get fireplaces that you could use without the heat, what a neat idea. We don't have a fire at all, just an empty fireplace, blocked off, and a heatpump for the winter.

    I just LOVE your new fireplace! It makes the room look so cozy! I think it would be nice to sit by the fire and read.
