Finally the mixed nuts have arrived in town!!

Yes , I am being literal here!! I have been waiting and waiting for the nuts!! They finally are here!! I like these for a snack--just a few a day!! I think I will share this for show and tell at

http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ . This nut holder above is made out of aluminum. It has a pretty design when empty...but I am one that like it full! ha!! I found this at an antique shop in the Mountains of NC. I love how it has a place to hold the picks and a nutcracker.....but of course we need more than one cracker!

  1. Oh , We don't do this cause the kids are little yet and don't understand. This was my favorite part of the winter season when I was a kid. Maybe I should bring the tradition out of waiting this year. I remember my grams pride in the nut bowls !!

  3. Are you by any chance Italian??? That's a familiar tray of nuts and nut cracker. That was exactly how it was set up in our home. Nuts were usually picked at after dinner with some fruit. It's all the same, right down to the aluminum tray. Just wondering if it's an Italian thing.

  4. Was I ever in Ravello??? Oh, yes!!! This is my favorite town. I love old, quaint villages with cobblestone streets and great views of Capri. We went to a place called Mamma Agata's. Google it. She's famous for her cooking for the rich & famous. Like my daddy who painted for the rich & famous. It was pricey...but would I do it again?...Absolutely!...It was the highlight of my trip. There were about 6 couples at their actual home and gardens. We ate outdoors. They views were spectacular. We did the wine pairing class with meal and dessert. Outstanding...to die for! I wanted to do the cooking class, but it was booked. We got to walk around their gardens, eat, drink all night.

Your sis in law had the right idea of getting married there. Now all the stars are heading there to tie the knot. Couldn't it have stayed a best kept secret? Ugghh! They must have thought your Mom was somebody pretty important over there. Very humorous.

  12. I love mixed nuts! This brings back memories of sitting in front of the pot bellied stove at my aunt's and cracking nuts listening to their stories.
