I have been so full of thankfulness lately. I am especially thankful for the eagerness to better know the Lord that has been exhibited by my two sons and daughter . I am so thankful for their love for the Lord and for their desire to study his Word and to engage in this study with fellow believers. It is great to see them excited about God, His Word, and what God is doing in their own lives. This has been so refreshing! It is a blessing because they are in the twenty and early thirty bracket where so many are not attending church etc. I am thankful for the ways God has chosen to work in each of their lives to bring them to this point.
I am so thankful for God's grace, mercy and forgiveness. I am thankful for his intimacy and His presence. I am also thankful for those times where, during the day, I can just stop, slow down a moment and enjoy His good gifts of family, nature, and beauty. His ways are sometimes not what I have expected, but there is always good that he blesses me with in the different situations if I just listen and look for Him.
You are truly blessed that you children desire to know the Lord more intimately. That is a great saddnes in my heart, as my son and DIL have drifted away. My heart grieves, sometimes to the point of tears, it hurts so bad. Like a little song that I heard posted on TSMSS, "be careful little feet, where you go, for other little feet follow you". I am thankful, though, that my younger granddaughter has a hunger for the Lord, and reads her bible and her devotional daily. I am now driving to where they live, 30 minutes away, to take her to Sunday School. They live 5 minutes from there, but won't get up to take her. The 15 yr. old probably would enjoy going, but she won't go without my son, so...I know how thrilled you are to see your kids following in your footsteps.

I can identify with this. I have so much to be thankful for including the fact that both of our children are faithful Christians. When I look around at all the material blessings I have been given I'm just blown away. God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams. And my spiritual blessings are even greater.

May you be richly blessed this week.
ReplyDeleteOh how happy I am for you. As a mother there is probably no greater joy than to have your child know and want to serve the Lord. I have 3 sons and one daughter and they all know Him. However, all 3 of the boys went through a period of rebellion and falling away. It was a VERY hard time and I spent most of it on my knees. My youngest son at one point seemed to be on a road to destruction. However at 19 be turned his life around and today he is the high school pastor at a large church in San Diego. God is faithful. Have a wonderful week...Blessings to you, Debbie

Hello Nannykim, This morning is the first time I have had a chance to read my comments. I did not check Snopes but I will say this. There are many people in our country that are working very hard to take GOD out of our Lives bit by bit. I am 'sorry if I made a mistake about this. However, the drift of this problem is everywhere. I pray that Christians step up and keep our faith intact.
ReplyDeleteYour post is lovely to read. When our children carry on with our faith, we are blessed. There are members of my family that have left their faith in God and it saddens me so very much. All we can do is pray for them.
Have a blessed day...Jeanne
