Southport, NC , a charming old town
This little town of Southport is great for walking around--lots of nice homey type homes built in the 1800's and early 1900's
If you get a chance to visit do so!!
You can catch a 30 minute ferry ride to Fort Fisher too!
Below are some shots from the Fort area

There are some interesting places to eat right on the water as well. We enjoyed Fishy Fishy http://www.fishyfishycafe.com

What a charming little town. I just adore cottages! I would love to visit North Carolina!
ReplyDeleteI love a verandah on a house, our first home had one but none since. The houses are lovely and the fort looks like an interesting place to visit as well. It reminds me a bit of the remains of the Maori pa we have in New Zealand. They were also defensive fortifications against other tribes, often built on hills.
